Shatter the Glass Ceiling

Voting is still up for what day and what movie (out of a list of 12) for this weekend. So far we have "Best in Show" as the top pick for this Saturday evening (in CST time)! Events are important, not just professional ones, like helping with resumes and mock interview questions, but social ones too! I have access to the movies on the list and for members who are involved in the chat often, they can make requests from the list of streaming services I have!

For the second update (in so many months!), we have had an influx of angry teen boys with low self-esteem. Not a fan of trolls and I am not on 24/7, so we now have a handful of more members with the power to mute, kick, and ban! They are the unofficial moderators and offer more protection from the bored and angry online!

This is still a small community despite the numbers growing. We have a handful of active ladies on here and would love more to join. We are a light hearted group of different ages and when we are sporadically on, I love all the positivity AND honesty. We don't sugar-coat anything and we love to share our experiences in what we do in our jobs, how we got them, and the issues we have faced or are currently facing. I love all the questions from those who don't quite know what they want to do in life and I can't wait to see our community grow over time.

Yes, you heard right! I know we have many professional and social channels, but it's come to my attention that we may come across as too rigid of a place. Sometimes you want to log on and let go of the stress! Without further ado, this week we have added server currency that can be used to buy and gift digital items (some give and take roles!) as well as allow you to play games like black jack, slot machine, rooster fighting, and roulette. We shall see who makes their way to the top of the leaderboard!

Another addition of silliness sometimes comes from our added channel "Question of the day"! Some are professionally related questions to get the conversation flowing in that direction and some will be off the wall. Members are free to submit question requests and a mod or myself will review your input!

On a different note, we recently lost a valued member, our STEM lead moderator, so that role is now open to our members to apply for. If interested, DM me in Discord and we can discuss the position. It is an important role and she has left some pretty big shoes to fill.

If that amount of responsibility scares you, I have many roles to still left open to the members. Tell my your skills or interests; I am all about getting people integrated into this server!

(Will get special role with a name/color you choose) -Chat revivers, can be in one channel or them all! -Looking for those who want to help advertise by getting the word out, with ads, word of mouth, networking, etc. (can give ad templates I have) -Finding RELATABLE partnerships for the server, DM me if you do -Looking for those who want to host virtual events on this server, can be a one time thing or you can tell me how often you want to do one -VC mod, when demand of the server requires this, I will be open to discussing this position more!

Now that the newness of the server has settled down, we have had a slow, steady growth of new members. I am really enjoying how informative, supportive, and friendly the server has blossomed into. Yes, we do have a wait time before you can speak, but it will give you time to scout out the channels and see if this is the server for you!

We are still looking for event hosts, professional or for fun. We currently have Jackbox evenings a few times a month and have offered links to free webinars and classes. We would love your input on what kind of events you want for the future as well.

To wrap up the short update, we still are looking for mods, event hosts, server bumpers, greeters, chatty members, and a few people with networking and outreach skills/connections.
