The Blue Angels are the United States Navy's flight demonstration squadron. The team was formed in 1946 and is currently based at NAS Pensacola, Florida. The team is composed of six demonstration pilots and performs aerobatic maneuvers at airshows and other events across the country. The Blue Angels fly the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet and typically perform at around 35 events per month. This team's mission is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
